01How it works+
One hour, one-on-one, with a trained coach who works for you, not your command.
You set the goals. It covers leadership, decisions, communication and career direction. It isn’t therapy and it isn’t a grievance line.
02Who are the coaches?+
Law enforcement professionals and civilian experts in leadership, career strategy, business, finance, and health and fitness.
Every coach is certified through P2’s program, built to ICF standards and led by former FBI National Academy instructors. You’re matched by role, goals and the expertise you want, never from inside your command.
03What will I get out of it?+
A clear path to your next rank, and a better handle on the life around the job.
On the job: promotion prep, command presence, hard conversations, decisions under pressure. Off the job: sleep and shift work, stress that follows you home, money around overtime and pension, time with family, and what comes after this career. Your coach will tell you when something belongs with a doctor, therapist or financial advisor.
04How often do I meet?+
As often as you need. Sessions are always 60 minutes.
Weekly, every other week, or a few times a year around a big change. Expect work between sessions.
05What do we talk about?+
Anything that moves your career or your life forward.
A new rank or assignment, hard personnel conversations, promotion readiness, feedback, leading a younger team, stress. The agenda is yours.
06Is it confidential?+
Yes. It stays between you and your coach.
The agency sees only anonymous, agency-wide trends like morale and whether people would recommend DPS as a place to work.
07How is this different from wellness programs?+
Wellness helps you manage stress. Mentoring teaches the culture. Coaching helps you grow.
It’s external, confidential, goal-based and open to everyone.
